Jesus is my Lord, my God, my King and my forever friend. I love him with all of my heart. What more can be said than, “thank you.” Jesus has risen, Jesus, our friend. Joy fills our hearts; He lives again. Praises we sing to him, This Easter-time. Jesus has risen, Savior divine. Jesus has […]
The weekly bulletin for my Ward’s Sacrament Meeting at church on Sunday (that comes to my email on Saturday’s) indicated that today’s meeting would be done by missionaries and I knew I’d feel the spirit today and my feeling was true. The meeting was done by elders and sisters on service missions. People become service […]
Reading my previous post makes me want to cry in realizing the Lord comforting and strengthening me last night to bear my pain. Truly the Lord helps me with a power beyond my own. Surely, he is love. Sometimes, most of the time, I don’t understand but in his loving kindness he blesses me. In […]
Some people say things like, “My mom told me…” or “My dad said…” and they give others credit for what they’ve done. They might have said it but you’re the one who did it. (Implemented it into your life.) Don’t give others credit for your work. Instead say, “I learned” or “I’ve known for years” […]
The mirror shows the reflection of truth. It only shows goodness; It shows only strength not defeat. (“You can’t make me less than beautiful because I was born with the light of Christ.”) The Lord watches over and protects and it’s not expected but just truth. How can Nephi’s words not support this? “The tender […]
I turn to Jesus Christ and find solace from my pain. I let his atonement heal me and bring me peace. Maybe I have this hard trial because I am one of the holiest people of all and Heavenly Father wants to know where I stand, no matter what I face. The best thing I […]
Why do I take myself on a ride everyday? To sit somewhere else besides my recliner. Believe me, if I could do something else, I would! But driving is the only thing I can do that doesn’t exhaust me (until after a while,) and so I do it! NOTE: I don’t feel sorry for myself […]
The lumbar support in my new recliner is excellent! I’m thankful because the lumbar support in my last chair was awful and probably broken; for five years I put up with feeling an uncomfortable bar in my back! Why did I wait so long to replace it? I’m gonna say because I’m human and sometimes […]
I love the visual kindness depicted in these words: He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did […]
Leaving the church doesn’t necessarily mean leaving the gospel. There are many people out there with bright, deeply spiritual feelings who don’t fit in at church, or don’t attend church, or who have stepped away from church or otherwise. To them I say, “I understand.” I know what being shunned feels like. I know the […]
April 19, 2020 Certain things caused expectation, disappointment and sadness today. The melancholy feeling stayed in my heart and I felt life getting complicated. “I just want to let it all go and be with my Lord” I thought and longed for the simplicity of just Him and me. YEARS AGO: Exasperated and close to […]
What’s the hardest thing for a busy person to do? Sit and do nothing. That’s my life, and today feels especially boring … and yet if sitting is what’s required, I’ll do it. I’m like a caterpillar submitting to the chrysalis and changing into a new creature.
I love knowing that at one moment I may be laughing, and joking, and having fun and then in the next moment my countenance turns to reverence and I am focused, and quiet, and still having fun but there’s a time and place for all behaviors and I know when to lower my voice, and […]
What I can do as of today is: Take myself on a ride. Attend church, remotely. Write in my journal. Study something. Read. Ponder. Pray. Recognize beauty. Be grateful. Realize “It is what it is” and focus on things within my power to control. Forgive and let things go. Decide being happy, optimistic, seeing the […]
For me, 2007 was a year of great learning: November 11, 2007 I have been praying every morning and centering myself spiritually. As I am kneeling, before I begin to pray, I think about Heavenly Father and how he feels about me. I reflect and this helps me to center and realize reality. Then I […]
“Haters are gonna hate” is true because hate is a mindset just like kindness, compassion and love. Just because haters are loud doesn’t mean there’s more of them than good people it just means that they’re loud. Ignore haters and do what feels right in the heart! Many people don’t like the scriptures because they […]
In Nephi’s mighty vision of seeing what his father saw Nephi said, “As I sat pondering in my heart I was caught away in the spirit of the Lord” … “The spirit said Look! And I looked…” I love the holiness of this account that as Nephi pondered he saw things in his mind’s eye. […]
I can’t help it. On my YouTube app were recommended videos of several suggestions that I quickly opened then closed in order to watch them later. My YouTube History page had at least 20 videos and as I perused what to watch the one that caught my eye was a virtual concert. The concert was lovely […]
I love uplifting messages. (When I listen for something uplifting I hear it.) To me, anyone can say something inspiring when I’m open to receiving it. “When the student is ready the teacher appears.” Today I was uplifted by three messages at church: When someone asks for my opinion but I don’t know what to […]
I love the personal prayer inherent in this spiritual song, written many years ago: I Want Jesus to Walk with Me I want Jesus to walk with me. I want Jesus to walk with me. All along my pilgrim journey, Lord, I want Jesus to walk with me. In my trials, Lord, walk with me. […]
I’ve absolutely love watching YouTube clips of East Idaho News giving away gifts from Secret Santa. Some people are so blown away by the gifts they are given that they cover their mouths and humbly say, “Are you serious?…For me?” and sometimes they’re brought to tears. Today I was in my bathroom doing my hair and […]
My life is whatever I make it. Like an artist painting a picture, first is a blank canvas. I’ve been distant from the world for 13 years but feel to come closer once again. Here are some ways I will create my life’s painting: Being a Better Friend I can see how people don’t visit […]
Today in my Ward’s Fast and Testimony Sacrament meeting two members talked about how in the last year people near and dear to them had stepped back from the church. They talked about how it was sad for them but because of the witness of Jesus Christ born to their hearts by the Holy Ghost […]
Scripture references regarding the heart range from evil in men’s hearts and people turning away from goodness people loving good things with all their hearts and being blessed by divinity. In relating this topic to myself, I’ve just lived my life but my heart has always turned toward God. A scripture in Moses says that […]
Never forsake anyone, because there’s always the possibility for change. A friend loves at all times. I love seeing people rise toward their potential when habits no longer wanted, and sometimes had for many years, are overcome. (I know it is possible to overcome unwanted habits because I’ve seen it happen for others, and it […]
