God’s Prophet

Published by jklovgren on July 1, 2018

2121089A-8954-4EA2-9403-4CBEAA74F0F2God’s living Prophet on the earth today is Russell M. Nelson. After him another Prophet will be called, in the Lord’s orderly way, and in this final dispensation we will never be without God’s Prophet on the earth.

As Neil L. Andersen said at the April 2018 General Conference, “The prophet is a watchman on the tower, protecting us from spiritual danger we may not see.” President Nelson has said historic words that call every member over 12 years old in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to action in these last days to prepare for the second coming of Jesus Christ:

Said as the Lord’s Apostle – Prophet, Seer, and Revelator:

October 2015 – Sunday Morning Session – “A plea to My Sisters” – President Nelson asked every woman who is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to step forward and fulfill President Kimball’s prophecy: “Much of the major growth that is coming to the Church in the last days will come because many of the good women of the world … will be drawn to the Church in large numbers. This will happen to the degree that the women of the Church reflect righteousness and articulateness in their lives and to the degree that the women of the Church are seen as distinct and different–in happy ways–from the women of the world.” — President Spencer W. Kimball

We need women who know how to make important things happen by their faith and who are courageous defenders of morality and families in a sin-sick world. We need women who are devoted to shepherding God’s children along the covenant path toward exaltation; women who know how to receive personal revelation, who understand the power and peace of the temple endowment; women who know how to call upon the powers of heaven to protect and strengthen children and families; women who teach fearlessly.”

Attacks against the Church, its doctrine, and our way of life are going to increase. Because of this, we need women who have a bedrock understanding of the doctrine of Christ and who will use that understanding to teach and help raise a sin-resistant generation. We need women who can detect deception in all of its forms. We need women who know how to access the power that God makes available to covenant keepers and who express their beliefs with confidence and charity. We need women who have the courage and vision of our Mother Eve.”

Said as the Lord’s Prophet – Prophet, Seer, Revelator, and holder of all Priesthood keys:

April 2018 – Priesthood Session – “Ministering with the Power and Authority of God” – President Nelson asked every priesthood holder who is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to rise up and help prepare the world for the Second Coming of the Lord.

Brethren, there are doors we can open, priesthood blessings we can give, hearts we can heal, burdens we can lift, testimonies we can strengthen, lives we can save, and joy we can bring into the homes of the Latter-day Saints–all because we hold the priesthood of God. We are the men who have been “called and prepared from the foundation of the world according to the foreknowledge of God, on account of [our] exceeding faith,” to do this work.”

Tonight I invite you literally to rise up with me in our great eternal brotherhood. When I name your priesthood office, please stand and remain standing. Deacons, please arise! Teachers, arise! Priests! Bishops! Elders! High priests! Patriarchs! Seventies! Apostles!”

Now, brethren, will you please remain standing and join with our chorus in singing all three verses of “Rise Up, O Men of God.” While you sing, think of your duty as God’s mighty army to help prepare the world for the Second Coming of the Lord. This is our charge. This is our privilege.”

June 2018 – Worldwide Devotional for Youth with President and Sister Russell M. Nelson – President Nelson asked every youth ages 12-18 who is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to join the Lord’s Youth Battalion to help gather Israel.

Stand out and be different from the world. We are told to be a light. Look like, act like, sound like, and dress like a true disciple of Jesus Christ. You have very different standards than the world to help you avoid the stain of the world. With the Holy Ghost as your companion you can see right through the celebrity culture that has smitten our society. You can be smarter than previous generations have ever been. If you’re sometimes called “weird” wear that distinction as a badge of honor. Be happy that your light is shining brightly in this ever darkening world.”

Set a standard for the rest of the world. Embrace being different. The “For the Strength of Youth” booklet should be your standard; it is the standard the Lord expects His youth to uphold. Study this booklet again. Prayerfully read it like you’ve never read it before. Mark it up, talk about it, discuss the standards with your friends, and decide how you can live these standards -your standards- with even more exactness. You have a copy of your own, so if you choose to enlist give the new copy of the “For the Strength of Youth” pamphlet to a friend who may not know your standards. Pray about who needs this book and give it to them and it’ll be exciting!”

President Nelson’s words guide us, will we listen and obey?
