Now that I’ve completely let go of social media I see how it held me down to focus on what didn’t matter and stopped me from truly living my life. What made me let go of social media was me asking myself, “Will I just *watch* other’s live their lives or will I *live* my own life?”
I call the shots in my life so why would I give up my freedom to social media? My life may not seem as exciting as other people’s lives on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube but my life is real and let me give myself a pep talk:
“Truthfully, my life is just like theirs. We all lead ordinary, mundane, simple and plain lives with moments of excitement here and there. Other people just document their exciting times and it makes me assume that their lives are *always* exciting, that they’re cool and I’m not but that’s not true! I’m cool, too, and have the courage to live my life and make it good!”
I try to get the things I want and don’t let distractions stop me! I’m in charge of me not anybody or anything else.
