• “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

I love this scripture and think of it sometimes when I’m weighed down with trials and burdens that are too hard to bear so I turn to the Lord. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” He says. When things are hard and I’m sad He takes away my heavy pain and makes my soul rest with peace. I pray in my mind Please help me, Lord, make it better and somehow He always does.

The Lord is my friend and I love Him because I know about Him. He says to “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Taking His yoke upon me is trusting Him to help me carry my burdens. I’m the little mule and He’s the big ox that carries the majority of the load and yet somehow the yoke makes it even. He carries the weight of my burdens so my soul can rest.

The scripture tells me that anything that’s hard and heavy isn’t from the Lord because He said “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” When yoked with the Lord He makes my hard and heavy burdens become easier too bear.
