I love this picture that reminds me to keep my focus on the Savior otherwise I’ll sink. This picture is of Jesus from Peter’s perspective. The story is this:
Peter and some disciples were on a boat in the middle of the sea and the boat was tossed about because of the wind. In the early morning Jesus went to them walking on the sea and when the disciples saw him they were afraid and thought he was a ghost.
- Jesus called out to them and said, “Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.”
- Peter said, “Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.”
- Jesus said, “Come.”
Peter stepped out of the boat, his eyes fixed on the Savior, and he walked on the water toward Jesus.
- But then Peter noticed the boisterous wind, was afraid, began to sink and said, “Lord, save me.”
- Immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand and caught him and said to him, “O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”
And when they came into the ship the wind stopped.
Like I said, I love this picture that reminds me to keep my focus on the Savior otherwise I’ll sink. Tumultuous things can be going on around me but when I keep my focus fixed on Jesus, He helps me overcome the storms in my life.
