I encourage my fellow sisters to be strong. When life stares us down we don’t shrink but stare back; we’re brave and stand tall. We’re not victims to our afflictions but take charge because we know who we are and where we’re going, and we won’t stop until arriving.
Life sometimes makes us feel broken. Challenges and trials aren’t our favorite but we endure whatever the Lord wants us to experience because we can handle it and because we will triumph; and He knows it. The Lord wants us to succeed, and with our hand in His we will.
This statement by C.S. Lewis is the best. “Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of – throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”
God is our friend. Another view point: Thank You for letting us experience trials because it’s when we feel broken that You’re closest to us. Heaven’s help is on our side, and when surrendering to their help we become stronger, wiser and, like the caterpillar that transforms into a butterfly, a new creature.
