Fascinated Not Frustrated

reality 1Something is happening that frustrates me, and frankly it makes me mad. But I’m reminded by what my favorite philosopher (Jim Rohn) said, “Be fascinated not frustrated.” Things will happen whether I like them or not so I’ll tell myself “I’m fascinated not frustrated” and “It is what it is.

Telling myself these two things shifts my perspective and brings me peace. I realize it’s out of my hands and I can’t do anything about it so why get upset? I feel calm serenity to go about my day and make it what I will. My heart is not tight and I can smile. I’ve let go getting worked up about it and have moved on. I don’t feel like lamenting or complaining. The thing that frustrates me is what it is and no longer affects me.
