Several times the scriptures say,
- “The last shall be the first and the first shall be the last”
but what does that cryptic sentence mean?
Today understanding hit me like a ton of bricks and I share my knew knowledge to hopefully help others. The scriptures make it clear:
- “First spiritual, secondly temporal, which is the beginning of my work; and again, first temporal, and secondly spiritual, which is the last of my work–”
Religion isn’t popular in today’s world. Many people believe that so much time has gone by (2,017 years since Jesus and 5 or 6,000+ years since Adam & Eve) that religious words no longer apply. A lot of people believe the scriptures contain good and decent ways to live but not laws. My 100% belief is that the idea is in many people’s hearts to distract them from ever reaching for heaven.
God is the same yesterday, today and forever-He doesn’t change-and what He said, no matter when, will happen. The point is believing in Him and Jesus Christ, not knowing when the things they said will happen. (It’s not enough to just say “I believe” because I need to truly mean it in my heart; “The Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”)
I believe with great faith and hope that everything said in the scriptures will happen and I take it one step further by developing characteristics of charity within me. My bottom line: I strive to develop my spiritual self and am grateful for knowledge that leads to understanding.
