We moved to Kansas when I was 23 and and now we’re moving again and I’m 48. Much has happened over 25 years of being in Kansas including having different jobs, raising kids, growing up, serving in many callings at church, and having several friends.
Overland Park and Olathe have been our homes while living in Kansas. My jobs have been with A Special Event, Aris, Mercantile Bank, TouchNet, US Central, Shipping Convenience, CSG, Nueterra and my own businesses of Greenstone Computers, Mary Kay, The Pampered Chef, Herbalife, and The Document Assistant.
My church callings have been Primary Chorister (six times), Relief Society Pianist (several times), Relief Society Chorister (several times), Ward Organist, Primary First Counselor, Young Women’s Teacher, Young Women’s President, Mission Prep Advisor, Ward Bulletin Coordinator (three times), Indexer, Substitute Sunday School Teacher, and many assignments to Visit Teach a multitude of sisters.
In my opinion, every person I know is my friend but several people have positively impacted my life including Sister Allam (my first VT in Kansas), Brother Priday (my HT in OP), Wendy, Colette, Marjean, Sheila, Denise, Donna, Brother Boyack, Cheryl May, Jim Davidson, and the myriad of VT’s and HT’s who have come into my life.
My sons grew up in Kansas and I thank the many teachers and leaders who made a positive difference in their lives. They were both set apart as Full-Time Missionaries by the same Stake President and my heart is thankful.
Per has worked for CEM Corporation for 24 years now and has had several positions. I’m thankful for all they’ve done and continue to do for him and am so very glad he has a job he loves.
Looking back, I see the Lord’s hand guiding our lives in countless ways including being our counselor, comforter, and genuine friend; I’m forever grateful.
