What an awesome weekend I just had! It was General Conference weekend and President Nelson spoke four times! I loved all of his remarks and recorded as much as I could:
PRESIDENT RUSSELL M. NELSON
Welcoming RemarksUnusual times can bring unusual ways.
Ponder the Lord’ promise:
- “Whosoever will may lay hold upon the word of God, which is quick and powerful, which shall divide asunder all the cunning and the snares and the wiles of the devil, and lead the man of Christ in a strait and narrow course across that everlasting gulf of misery which is prepared to engulf the wicked—And land their souls, yea, their immortal souls, at the right hand of God in the kingdom of heaven, to sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and with Jacob, and with all our holy fathers, to go no more out.”
PRESIDENT RUSSELL M. NELSON
General Women’s SessionLatter-day Saint sisters are eight million strong.
The Lord has spoken of our day in sobering terms, and he also spoke of the gloriousness of the last days.
- “If ye are prepared ye shall not fear.”
How can [I] best prepare? Be temporally prepared but more importantly be spiritually prepared.
Be like Captain Moroni in the Book of Mormon who prepared the people of God in three ways:
- Prepare [my] places of security. Create places where [I’m] safe temporally and spiritually. Home. The temple. “A place of security is anywhere you can feel the Holy Ghost.” — President Nelson
- Prepare [my] mind to be faithful to God. [My] spiritual foundation must be solid so that in times of adversity [I] can be steadfast and immovable. Exercising [my] faith increases [my] faith. Yoke [myself] to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
- Never stop preparing. Never become complacent, even in good times.
[I] have so much to look forward to!
The days ahead won’t be easy but the end result will be glorious for those who are prepared.
When [I] turn to Him the Lord will speak peace to [my] soul and grant me deep faith.
PRESIDENT RUSSELL M. NELSON
Sunday Morning SessionIn all his 36+ years as an apostle President Nelson has been interested in everything about the House of Israel.
President Nelson recently learned from two Hebrew scholars that one of the Hebrew meanings of “Israel” is “Let God Prevail.”
The Lord is gathering those who will let God prevail in their lives.
There is room in the gospel of Jesus Christ for every person who will let God prevail in their life.
God doesn’t love one race above another but loves all his children equally. He invites all to come unto Him, “black and white, bond and free, male and female.”
Gods’s favor with [me] doesn’t depend upon the color of [my] skin but upon how devoted [I] am to Him.
- Am [I] willing to let God prevail in [my] life? Am [I] willing to let God be the most important influence in [my] life?
- Will [I] allow His words, His commandments, and His covenants to influence what [I] do each day?
- Will [I] allow His voice to take priority over any other?
- Am [I] willing to let whatever He needs [me] to do take precedence over every other ambition?
- Am [I] willing to have [my] will swallowed up in His?
Let God prevail in [my] life and use [my] energy to help gather Israel.
PRESIDENT RUSSELL M. NELSON
Closing RemarksEmbrace the new normal.
Increasingly turn to the Lord.
Repent daily.
Keep an eternal perspective.
Live each day to be more spiritually prepared.
Six new temples announced.
Blessing to [me] of peace and an increased desire and ability to obey the laws of God.
Promise that as [I] [keep the commandments] [I] will be showered with greater courage, increased personal revelation, sweeter harmony in my home and joy, even amid uncertainty.
May [I] fulfill the divine mandate of preparing [myself] and the world for the Second Coming of the Lord.
Look forward to the future with glorious expectation.
