I focus on what I want (eternal life) and let go of everything else that doesn’t help me get there. My focus turns to becoming like my Lord. I give my family members freedom to be themselves and make their own choices because I trust in covenants, ordinances and promises that bind us together.
For behold, saith the prophet, the time cometh speedily that Satan shall have no more power over the hearts of the children of men.
And Satan shall be bound, that he shall have no place in the hearts of the children of men.
I have tremendous faith, strength to withstand the unsavory, power to overcome hard things, and never-ending hope for everyone’s good outcome. As an empowered person I empower others. I encourage others with uplifting thoughts; help when and where I can; think of others and do things for their benefit; love; spread happiness and joy; teach, think and say only the truth; and show kindness.
The thirteenth article of faith is truly my guide:
We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
